Rules of Cricket


CRICKET RULES: Ground , Round or Oval shaped. Wicket 22 Yards apart. Ball ("in circumference and 5 3/4 oz in weight. Bat: 4 1/2 inches width and 38 inches maximum length. Bowling crease: 8 feet and 8 inches in length. Popping crease 4 feet from the wicket and deemed unlimited in length. Stumps 27 inches out of the ground.
25 Fielding Positions. 11 Players on each side. 2 umpires and One third Umpire (Only for international cricket)
A bats man can be given out in 10 different ways.
Run Out, Caught, Bowled, LBW, Stumped, Caught Behind,Obstruction, Handling the ball, Delay,Hit Wicket.
Terms Used: Boundary, sixer, Not Out, Leg Bye, No Run, Run Down,
Positions :- Slips (1,2&3), Gully, chilly mid on, Chilly mid off, silly point, point, deep wicket, deep mid wicket, wicket Keeper, Thrid Man, Deep Third Man. Square Leg,cover, Extra Cover,Short leg, Forward Short Leg, Deep Fine Leg,Leg Slip, Leg Gully, Squre Short Leg,Short Mid Wicket.Long On, Long Off.
Important Cups / Trophies:- Ashes, Asia Cup, Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Sharjah Cup, World Cup. Important Grounds: Chepauk Staduim (Chennai), Chinna samy Stadium (Bangalore), Eden Garden (Kolotta), Ferozeshah Kotla Ground (Delhi) ,Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai).
